Cadets On Parade

Around 50 Air Cadets from local Squadrons attended the annual ATC Sunday Parade and service at Marham in February.

The weather was chilly but dry as the parade commander, ATC Flt Sgt Julian Da’eth, formed up the cadets on the main car park. They then marched past Station HQ, banners flying and band playing, where the salute was taken by the Station Commander Gp Capt Harv Smyth, accompanied by the OCs of Marham Flight, Swaffham, King’s Lynn and Watton ATC Squadrons. The event is held every year to commemorate the formation of the Air Training Corps in February 1941.

After the march past, a service conducted by Station Padre, Sqn Ldr Rev David Haslam, was held in the Chaplaincy Centre. During the service, the congregation heard readings by cadets and staff of 864 (Marham) DF and were addressed by the Station Commander on the subject of ethos, service and community. Following the service, the cadets and their parents had the opportunity to meet the Station Commander over refreshments in the Lounge.

Boys and girls over the age of 13 who are interested in joining Marham’s Air cadet flight should contact Tony Hall by phone on 07900 518153 or by Email:
