West Norfolk’s Young Heroes


West Norfolk’s brightest and bravest young people were honoured a few weeks ago at the Young Hero Awards. On Friday the 20th December, a very special breakfast was held in the King’s Lynn Town Hall hosted by KLFM.

Adam Newstead presented his highly popular breakfast show live amidst friends and families of the remarkable young people gathered to receive their awards. RAF Marham Station Commander Gp Capt Harv Smyth and  to present one of the awards, along with a host of Norfolk dignitaries including Borough Mayor Elizabeth Watson, Chief Inspector Dave Buckley and the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, the Countess of Romney. Gp Capt Smyth out in the local villages, to fund this trip she also had to raise £3,500. KLFM Managing Director Darren Taylor said: “The Young Hero awards are all about recognising, and saying thank you to, inspirational youngsters in our community. It was great to hear about so many young people that we can all be proud of and I was delighted that Gp Capt Smyth was able to support the event.’
