Vacant Masters Title
Pte Jake Dyer part of the Military Provost Guard Service (MPGS) at RAF Marham has been given the opportunity to fight for the vacant Masters title in his ninth professional bout.
This could be a big turning point in his career and a great chance to win a belt and do the service proud. Pte Dyer has been boxing for 13 years. He started at March Town Amateur boxing club where he became Eastern Counties Champion two years in a row.
During his previous Army service with the Royal Anglians he became involved in Inter Company boxing and then his talent got recognised and he was selected for the Army boxing team in 2005 until 2007.
After leaving the Army in 2007 Jake, decided as a civilian that he would become a professional boxer and signed up with Carl Greaves Promotions in November 2010.
Jake decided to join the MPGS in February 2011 after being made redundant in his previous job. Now he juggles his Army career and family life, as well as travelling between Marham, Peterborough and Newark to attend the gym where he does his training and sparring sessions.
This upcoming fight is for the vacant Masters title where he will be moving up to 8 x 3 minute rounds. The fight will be taking place at Newark Showground on Sunday 17th November 2013.
Anyone wishing to attend an action packed night of professional boxing can purchase tickets for £30 for a standard ticket or a reserved ticket for £50 which will include a two course meal seating 10 people at a table at ringside.
