The Great Marham Bake Off
What a wonderful day the smell of baking, chocolate, icing, marzipan and loads of cupcakes.
Marham Infant school kindly hosted the event for Community Support team which is hugely appreciated, and Mrs Webb ensured refreshments were always at hand.
We had 21 entries covering 9 different catergories from Cup Cakes to Novelty Cakes.
The standards were extremely high and the judges had a very difficult time picking winners for each catergory. It took lots of tasting, debating, head scratching and finally a winner to go through to Best in Show.
Everyone can be very proud of their entries. The comments from the judges were:
Teddy Bear cake – superb detail, Brownies (Basket display) – Good Easter Theme, Millionaires (TrayBake) – Post the next batch to II(AC)Sqn please!!
The winning cakes for each catergory will be displayed in the Community Support Hub so please pop in to see exactly how high the standard was and see what you missed.
Mrs Cooper, the Station Commander’s wife, had the hardest job of all having to pick the Best of Show where the standards were so high, the decorating, again fantastic, the overal winner was an entry from “Home Alone” baked and decorated by Margi Maquire.
The winner and runner up were presented with prizes by Group Captain Cooper and Mrs Cooper and their cakes displayed to all of the school.
We would like to thank all those of FOMIS (Friends of Marham Infants School) for their support on the day and it was with their help that we raised over £200 for the school.
To everyone who helped make this a great success thank you and judges we hope to see you again next time for some more cake.
