Stories in a Sack
During the summer term parents discovered that there is more than one way to share a story and Norfolk County Council Adult Education Service’s Family Learning Team ran two ‘Step into Storysacks’ courses in the Library here at Marham.
On the courses parents discovered all about what a “Storysacks” is and then created their own to share with their children. Popular books were chosen such as ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, ‘The Gruffalo’, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, ‘Harry and the Bucket full of Dinosaurs’ and ‘The Teeny Weeny Tadpole’.Puppets, masks, and games were all designed and made to complement these very special Storysacks.
Hot on the success of the course, a further “Storysacks” course is being held in the Library during the autumn, together with a “Learning Through Play” course. The Learning Through Play course lasts 11 weeks and will take place from 9.30am – 11.30am commencing on Thursday 19th September. The Step into Storysacks course will also commence on the 19th September but will be from 12.45pm to 2.45pm.
The number that each course can accommodate is limited and anybody interested in attending can obtain further details from the Hive who will also take bookings.
