Station Bonfire Night Goes with a Bang!

MARHAM, 1046, BONFIRE NIGHT

Despite a week of wet weather and strong winds, Thursday 7th November saw a break in the weather and almost perfect conditions that drew large crowds who braved the cold to support the event.

OC Operations Wing, Wg Cdr Rob Connor presided over the difficult task of judging the best guy and chose Marham Junior School’s entry as the well deserved winner.

A funfair was provided by Zoe Stocks who brought along a collection of children’s rides and glow in the dark merchandise, which proved popular across all ages! As were the delicious hotdogs and burgers provided by Sgt Gargett and his chefs.

All in all, the evening was a sell out success, raising £5,812. A huge thank you to our sponsors; Rolls Royce, BAe and SERCO, who made very generous donations. Thanks must also go to Kimbolton for the fantastic display, drawing plenty of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from the crowds!
