Royal Norfolk Show

At the end of June personnel from RAF Marham attended the Royal Norfolk Show in Norwich.

This year we had stands in the Military Zone and Discovery Zone showcasing a number of roles and opportunities available in the RAF. In the Discovery Zone the STEM ambassadors, Rolls Royce and BAE Systems personnel challenged students to a variety of activities based around Science Technology Engineering and Maths. There were many interactive activities for the visitors to take part in in the Military Zone with some team building challenges in the Heritage tent alongside a fantastic display of equipment from the Survival Equipment Section with the inflatable life rafts a firm favourite with the children. The caterers had made some delicious gingerbread men and were showing children, and some adults, how to ice them. The personnel from 2620 Squadron RAF Regiment had their weapons on display alongside their climbing wall.

The second day of the show ended with RAF Marham leading the closing ceremony in the grand ring. They were joined by almost 900 people in the ring representing many different organisations such as the United States Air Force, Kings Troop Royal Artillery, Veteran organisations and local Air Cadets.

Although it rained constantly on the first day it did nothing to dampen the spirits of all those that attended.
