Remembrance Parades

Last month saw RAF Marham supporting 17 Remembrance Parades around the County. As well as supporting the main County event in Norwich; Marham personnel attended wreath laying ceremonies, parades and services in villages and towns across Norfolk.

Personnel from RAF Marham and Swanton Morley also paraded at Norwich City Football Club’s match against West Ham on Saturday evening the 8th of November, to rapturous applause from the crowds. A collection took place at Carrow Road, and between the three services, (RAF and Navy from Marham and Army from Swanton Morley) present a record sum of £3529.60p was raised for the Royal British Legion.

Cpl Nina Lines who paraded on the pitch said; ‘The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal is a great cause that supports the needs of servicemen and women and that need is as great now as it has ever been. As part of the local community, this is also a great opportunity to say thank you to the public for their considerable contribution in supporting us from the home front.’
