RAF Marham Contact Houses Receive Face Lift
The final work on the revamp of the RAF Marham Contact/Welfare Houses has now been completed with the last two lodges located opposite the main gate having been handed back to Community Support during the week.
All the houses now have new bathrooms and kitchens and have been decorated throughout. In addition they have all been refurnished with new appliances and soft furnishings thereby ensuring that the Lodges, for those who require emergency accommodation, are of the highest standard.
The funding for the refurbishment was provided by RAF Central funds and RAFA, without which it would not have been possible to bring the houses up to their current state.
Whilst the prime purpose of the Lodges is to ensure emergency welfare accommodation is available for those who require it, they are also available for routine use by Station personnel.
With the upgrade to the properties complete we also felt it was time to review the general hire charges, which will show a modest increase from the 1st October 2013. In addition, it was also recognised that the current deposit was set at an amount that was inadequate for dealing with any damage or cleaning costs that might be incurred and this will also be increased but will, of course, still be fully refundable, if the property is at the required right standard when it’s vacated. Full details of the revised charges are available from Community Support.
Details and booking forms can be found on the Marham Hub www.marhamhub.co.uk/marham-lodges.htm and as demand for the Lodges is great and personnel wishing to hire them are check advised to book early either by completing the online booking form found on the Hub or by contacting Nikki Savage in the Hive on Ext: 6136.
