Oak Avenue Play Park Develompment

Development of the Oak Avenue Play Area is planned to continue through May with security fencing maintained around the site until at least 20th June.

This work, overseen by Community Support Squadron and funded by the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund was carried out in response to residents input to the RAF Marham Community Development Plan.

The site will be watered regularly during this period by Station fire personnel to enable the landscaped areas (turf) to bed-in. Marham Community Support Squadron thank everyone for their patience and request that all residents be extra vigilant in maintaining site security during this period. Residents are requested to report any breaches to the Safer Neighbourhood Police Team on: 0845 456 4567 or text 07786 200777 or Email: enquiries@norfolk.pnn.police.uk.

Identifying the need for additional play equipment in the toddler to teen age bracket, this work is phase one of a proposed two-stage development of this play area (pending additional funding). Replacement of the football goals and hard surfacing with landscaped play equipment features and seating areas follow a ‘natural’ play theme. This theme is proposed to continue into the existing play area with additional equipment and landscaping designs to be identified by the residents and children in an effort to freshen up this centrally placed and important recreation area.

Further information on this and other community initiatives can be obtained by dropping into the Community Support Hub, contacting them on 01760 337261 Ext: 6052 or 6136 or by speaking to the RAF Marham Community Development Officer, Mrs Rita Broomfield on Ext: 7884.
