Norfolk Blood Bikes at Richard Burns Memorial Rally

Norfolk Blood Bikes are a new charity who transport blood, plasma platelets and breast milk (for premature babies) to hospitals in the Norfolk region. Representatives from the charity attended the fourth RAF Marham Richard Burns Memorial Rally last week with their first ‘Blood Bike’ called Katy.

The bikes deliver the life-saving products for use in emergency situations and are ridden by volunteer motorcyclists. The charity relies on public donations raised though fund raising events, the charity are continually working to raise awareness of the valuable work they do.

The stand at RAF Marham received a lot of interest from the public who were attending the rally, Duncan Edwards, SERV Norfolk Events Officer said “We are grateful for all of the support and interest we have received. Our main aims are fundraising to finance the purchase of another dedicated ‘Blood Bike’ for the region and to highlight the work of the volunteers who make such a difference to so many lives”.
