MT Section Bring Christmas Cheer

MT (Mechanical Transport) Section brought a little bit of Christmas cheer to the children at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital just before Christmas, with a donation of some new toys for their playroom.

The idea to raise money originally came from MT’s SAC Neeka Caplan who had raised money for a local hospital at a previous Station he was based at. He contacted Mandy French, a Hospital Play specialist from Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a ‘wish list’ of items they would like and then set about raising the money to buy them. Enlisting the help of his wife and colleagues a grand total of £106.40 was raised by a weekly cake sale and donations from personnel.

The Early Learning Centre, in King’s Lynn gave a very generous 20% discount on the toys and the Swaffham Florist wrapped the presents free of charge.

SAC Caplan and SAC Steve Parnell took the gifts to the hospital where they presented them to Mandy French and some of the children staying on Rudham Ward.
