Marham Military Wives Choir Supporting Sir Cliff Richard

The Marham Military Wives Choir were absolutely thrilled to perform as the support for Sir Cliff Richard at Blickling Hall, Norfolk as part of his ‘Still Reelin’ and A-Rockin’ Tour.

It was an experience none of the ladies will forget and one that, since the Marham Choir started in January 2012, they never foresaw! It was (especially for the Cliff Richard fans in the choir) a dream-come-true and a far cry from their daily lives at work, raising children, and supporting their other halves serving Queen and country.

Every song was met with rousing applause and the set was completed with a standing ovation! When the ladies joined the rest of the crowd to get ready to watch some of the fabulous concert, there was another round of spontaneous applause and a chorus of ‘thank yous’ from members of the public! It was humbling to say the least.

Choir member Vicky Smith said, ‘I had an amazing time; loved every minute. I’m very proud to be a military wife and also to be in the Marham ‘Bluebirds’ MWC.’

Rosanne Wilkinson Keates said, ‘I was particularly touched by the warm reception from the audience, who spontaneously applauded when we walked out to watch Sir Cliff. I’m still on a high now, and it was an honour to perform with everyone.’ Vicky Harris-Hodges added to that it was ‘a wonderfully moving response from the audience.’

Christina Tuckwell added, ‘It was an amazing experience I will remember for the rest of my life.’

A charitable donation made by the promoter will go to the Military Wives Choirs Foundation which brings women in the military community closer together through singing.
