Dereham-based motorcycle race team, DL Racing are celebrating after their rider David Langley secured a top place finish in the 2012 Derby Phoenix Motorcycle Racing championship.

Competing on board his Yamaha R6, David, also an active serving member of the Royal Air Force, triumphed the season to finish the year with eight race wins.

His achievements were also recognised by the Royal Air Force following his award as ‘Clubman of the Year’ by the RAF Motorsports Association which celebrated his outstanding performance throughout the season.

‘Finishing the season in second place was the perfect finish to the year and one which would not have been possible without the support of my sponsors, Dave Wickes Motorcycles, Swaffham Motorcyles, Lawson Surfacing and the Royal Air Force’ said David Langley.

As a new season beckons, DL Racing has decided to move into the more challenging televised race series of Thundersport GB which will see David compete onboard a Triumph Daytona 675 alongside riders from the British Superstock championship.

Also having been approached by Austin Powered Racing, a classic race team who have competed many times in the Isle of Man, David will compete in the 2013 Classic Motorcycle Racing Club (CRMC) series onboard a Drixton Honda CB 350K4.
