Kandoo Club in King’s Lynn

Wing Commander Steve Dharamraj OC Base Support Wing and Paul Edwards Station Warrant Officer went to visit the Kandoo Club in King’s Lynn to present a cheque for £1,500 donated from funds raised by personnel from RAF Marham.

The Kandoo Club is held every Wednesday (term time) 6 – 7.30pm at Lynnsport and Leisure Park King;s Lynn. The Club is specifically aimed at youngsters with all disabilities. Various sporting activities are run by fully qualified sports coaches from local sports clubs in West Norfolk.

The youngsters have the opportunity to take part in regular sports activities, get fit and meet new friends. With club coaches running the sessions the opportunity is there to go on and join a local club.

The cheque was presented to the Club Chairman Mr Ian Bullen who thanked RAF Marham personnel for their kind contribution and went on to state that the money would be used to pay the Gym hire fees for the next 12 months.

Wing Commander Steve Dharamraj watched various sporting and fun activities and along with the Station Warrant Officer was invited to participate in an indoor cricket match as respective team captains. Great fun was had by all and the competitive streak in both captains was clear to see. Wing Commander Dharamraj said: “I am overwhelmed by the warm welcome that I have received and by the enthusiasm and commitment of the children and adults at the Club. ”At the end of the evening, and after his cricket team beat the Station Warrant Officer’s, Wing Commander Dharamraj added; “RAF Marham is very pleased to support such an obvious and worthwhile venture which promotes fitness and equality for the children of West Norfolk.”
