Families of Deployed Personnel Barbecue

Flt Lt Ann-Marie Noble is the star of the show at the recent families of deployed personnel BBQ.

The cloudy and very blustery conditions did not stop a group of families of deployed personnel in enjoying themselves at a barbecue in the Sandringham Centre, organised by Community Support.

Magic Charlie, the Magician did an excellent job in keeping the children entertained, allowing the parents present a few moments of well-earned relative peace amongst friends. With plenty of food and drink it was also an opportunity not to have to prepare Sunday lunch. With the added bonus of having the BFBS Ice Cream van on site, both children and adults could enjoy ice creams!

The barbecue was all made possible by Flt Lt Ann-Marie Noble, whose fund raising in aid of the Family Welfare Fund, a dedicated fund used for the welfare of the families of deployed personnel, provided the necessary funding to cover the cost of the event. Although Ann- Marie is still undergoing treatment for cancer, she nevertheless made sure she was able to get back to Marham to be present and as the party was ending she took centre stage, presenting each of the children with a goodie bag, thereby rounding up what had been a very enjoyable afternoon.
