Do you Know What Your Child is Doing When They’re Online?

Online Safety Awareness Evening for parents and carers on Wednesday 27th November 2013 at 19:30 at the Youth Centre.

So, your child owns an iphone, ipad, tablet or some other sort of mobile device. Or maybe you’re thinking of getting them one for Christmas – if they’re good.

They love it and it’s almost impossible to separate them from their most precious possession! But do you ever feel concerned over their safety online, who they could be talking to, who might be talking to them, what they could be watching or if they are at any risk? Maybe you’re wondering what you can do to keep up with them and the technology they’re using, and how you can make sure you’re being as good a parent online as you are offline.

Well, if you are, then put Wednesday 27th November at 7.30pm in your diary! The Airplay Youth Centre is hosting an Online Safety Awareness evening for all parents and carers, regardless of your child’s age or whether they attend the Youth Centre. We’ll be looking at what children and young people are looking at online, the risks your child might face and tools that you can use to protect them. The evening is free and refreshments will be available. Booking is not required – just turn up.

If you are unable to make that evening then why not visit: www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents for lots more info and advice. Contact Angela Caley on angela.caley@4children.org.uk for more info. See you there!
