Call for Oral History Project Volunteers

Want to be part of living history? Volunteer for ‘Swaffham: Within Living Memory’, an exciting new oral history project based at Swaffham Museum.

Swaffham Museum has recently been awarded £50,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund to create a sound archive and display of stories about Swaffham people, buildings and events from 1930 to 2010. We are currently recruiting a team of volunteers to carry out oral history interviews, edit digital sound clips and produce a new museum display. If you’re interested in history, want to learn some new skills, and enjoy listening to people tell their story, we want to hear from you!

Full training will be provided. The role is flexible but volunteers must be able to attend a one day oral history workshop on Tuesday 2nd August 2011 and commit to carrying out at least three oral history interviews over a six month period.

To become a volunteer or find out more about ‘Swaffham: Within Living Memory’, contact Sian Hogarth, Heritage Development Officer, via the Media & Communications Office at RAF Marham on 01760 337261 Ext: 7332 or by Email at
