Anthony Nolan Clinic

The annual Anthony Nolan Clinic was held at the Chaplaincy Centre on 19th September and was a great success, recruiting 22 new volunteer bone marrow donors onto the register and raising £130 with the sale of refreshments and a raffle.

Janet Qualters from TIW who organised the event said: “I would just like to thank everyone who volunteered to go onto the register and also those people who helped raise money by making cakes and buying raffle tickets. This is such a worthwhile cause and at present we are desperately trying to find a bone marrow donor for a young lad, Rob George who is only 21 and is still waiting for his ‘perfect match’. If you think that could be you, please go onto the Anthony Nolan website to register. We really need as many people as possible to sign up to give Rob and many others their chance of life. A bone marrow transplant is their only hope so please make that commitment”.

Alice Hirst, the Regional Donor Recruitment Manager who attended the clinic said: “Over the past seven years, Janet and TIW have carried out phenomenal work on behalf of Anthony Nolan, raising over £80,000 and hosting donor recruitment events that have increased the number of donors on the register by well over 500 people. All this along with being a pleasure to work alongside.”
