Annual Formal Inspection

On what was probably one of the warmest November days in memory, RAF Marham had its Annual Formal Inspection by AOC 1 Gp, Air Vice Marshal Waterfall CBE RAF.

During the inspection the Air Vice Marshal visited the Station Heritage Centre where he met volunteers from the Blood Bikes team and the Marham Co-responders. He then received briefs from the Air Cadet Liason Officer and Community Support team, before meeting the Force Development and Learning Squadron. After lunch in the Junior Ranks’ Mess with some of the junior ranks, the Air Vice Marshal then visited the Lightning Infrastructure Team. After an update from the team who are looking after the development and generation of building works for the new Lightning aircraft, SERCO Surface Finish Facility presented the AOC with a framed picture of the Tornado Tail Art aircraft.

It was then onto 31 Squadron who demonstrated a CI (continuos improvement) event and discussed their latest activities and impending exercises. To conclude the visit a presentation was held, where the AOC presented Team Commendations to both Armament Engineering Support Flight (AESF) andSurvival Equipment Squadrons.
