Ann-Marie Noble Charity Cricket Match

I knew Flt Lt Ann-Marie Noble at RAF Cosford as she was OIC cricket and I was a player in the team on a 14 month course, she was the OIC and the team scorer.

Ann-Marie came to all the games and kept the book well therefore taking pressure off the Captain and younger players who were asked to step into her shoes when she was unavailable. Sadly, last December Anne-Marie lost her brave fight with cancer and in her memory the Marham Cricket Team wanted to raise money for the Macmillan charity who supported Ann-Marie.

Ann-Marie was an inspiration, getting involved with the team perking us up after a loss and driving the team forward organising charity matches of her own in the same vein as Station Commanders XI vs The Station Team. It was my pleasure to take over as OIC Cricket when I was posted to RAF Marham and as she was a friend in the Mess we often talked about how the Marham team was getting on in the RAF East of England Cricket League and cup competitions.

This event has seen Serco kindly donate £500. Rolls Royce also raised £150 for charity in her honour. After the match there was a charity auction which raised approximately £1,200 for Macmillan cancer charity whom Ann-Marie tirelessly raised funds for last year before passing away.
